At Kingsway Church we will be doing something specific in prayer. Every few weeks, we will intentionally pray for a different Foursquare Church, learning what God is doing through them, in them and with their communities. Our goal is that by connecting to and praying for other Churches across Canada, God will open our eyes - we will see the bigger picture of how He is working and moving through the power of prayer in this nation. We will Look and Watch... (Habakkuk 1:5)

To Reach Our Community for Christ

Paul and Barbara Smith
Kingston Peninsula Foursquare Church
Kingston, New Brunswick

The Smiths say, "Our goal is to reach our community for Christ". And they are doing just that. They have been pastoring in Kingston for 26 years and God has given them much favour with the local people. They are invited to officiate at many weddings and funerals. They are invited to minister in the lives of the people at their happiest and hardest times. Pray for wisdom and love in those situations, that they can follow God's lead and watch Him work.

--> The Church was really excited to see the youth band take up the challenge of leading Sunday morning worship! Praise God for their hearts and their gifts given to God.

--> Pray that God would continuously captivate them and their congregation with the heart of worship.

--> Pray for God's leading in what they choose to do as they seek to effectively reach their community.

Let's remember Paul & Barbara and the Foursquare Church in Kingston, New Brunswick and uphold them in prayer as they reach their community for Christ.

"We're having fun and enjoying His love!"

New Life Foursquare Church
Cranbrook, British Columbia

About NLFC
NLFC is pastored by Gordon and Jacqueline Henry. Gordon, who was born in England but lived most of his life in New Brunswick where he met and married Jacqueline, moved to Cranbrook 6 years ago. A humble man, he sees his purpose /call as pastor is to love and support the people of NLFC, to help them grow and to prepare them for revival. He spoke of revival often and, having just returned from a missions trip in costa Rica, calls evangelism a primary concern for NLFC. NLFC is a church of about 125 aduls and 50 kids. Their vibrant youth group is lead by Jeff & Dee-Anne Crozier.
The leadership of NLFC sees as one of their top priorities the releasing of people intop their callings. They accomplich thi in part through discipleship classes that include: financial management, prophetic ministry, intercessory prayer and more. They also encourage growing leaders to help lead the homegroups.

Vision
A Revival Centre in Cranbrook :: Unity and Healing

Praise Reports
There has been an incredible spirit of unity & reconciliation growing amongst the churches of Cranbrook; in the past, there was much division & strife. However, they’ve begun to have reconciliation services four times a year between the different congregations - the pastors meet, then the other church staff and the whole congregations. They would ask forgiveness of each other, begin the process of communal healing, then take communion together. The spirit of unity has been fostering an atmosphere where God can show up.

A Pentecostal church with a new, young pastor was having major struggles with finances. The other churches in the region raised the money they needed and gave it to them as an act of love. The young pastor was floored!

NLFC was able to replace their roof and heating system despite financial strain.

Prayer Requests
They’ve had a succession of recent funeral, including a 16-year-old who died in a car accident. The slowing economy has hit some families hard, and the church has had some diffictulties too. There are people who very much in need of the physical and emotional healing that can come only by the power of God.

Yet Pastor Gordon says, “We’re having fun and enjoying His love!”

Following Jesus Together

Cornerstone Church in Airdrie and Calgary, Alberta
PS BARRY AND AUDREY MARSTEN

Barry has pastored in Airdrie for over sixteen years and in January the Airdie and Calgary Churches officially became one church. They are now the Cornerstone Church. Barry reports that the transition has been exciting but not without its challenges. He asks for prayer for the furtherance of unity in their body and for each person to be able to quickly discover where they fit. The people are plugged into “Life Together Groups” which are followers of Jesus choosing to live in community. Their motto is simple ~ Following Jesus Together.

They are working very hard at impacting their communities by meeting very practical needs of people. In December they became the home of "Stephen's Backpacks", a ministry to homeless children who are living on the streets. The backpacks are filled with clothing items, blankets, toys, hygiene items and lots of love. Through this ministry they were able to bless over 1000 homeless children and teenagers in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and even Cranbrook.

They are renovating their building to house homeless people through a project called Inn From The Cold. Another church has donated equipment to house the homeless (cots, bedding, etc.) Praise the Lord! He is certainly providing the needs!

Other ministries for prayer:
- young married group and young adults groups
- expansion of Stephen’s Backpacks
- for people to come to Christ through Inn From the Cold
- youth and young married ministries

“God’s love compelling us to love others.”

Jason and Patricia Silver pastor the Kimberly Foursquare Fellowship in Kimberley, BC.

Jason reports that this past year they have gotten back to their main vision, which is: “God’s love compelling us to love others.” He describes their church to be warm, friendly and compassionate.

So they have been teaching and preaching on truly experiencing God’s love so that they can indeed love others with His love, not with their own limited human love. They have been learning how to practice outwardly the presence of God in them, for as Moses himself said it’s the presence of God that sets us apart and makes us different. And different is what everyone is looking and searching for!
And for the loving others part... they are asking God to give them Spirit-led happenings (not just programs) for reaching out to the 90% of pre-believers in our community as they refuse to fight over the 10% already attending fellowships. And they always ask God to grow them in wisdom and the intimate knowledge of Jesus. Pray for Jason and Patricia as they fulfill their calling in Kimberly.

‘Where the sheep may safely graze’

Turtle Lake Mission Foursquare – Turtle Lake, SK
Pastor Dan and Judy Gies

God is doing awesome things through this church! They seek to be a place ‘Where the sheep may safely graze’ - a safe place for people who have been very hurt in their past, oftentimes by different churches. They have over one hundred people coming in to their church on Sunday mornings and forty to fifty teenagers each week for their youth events - and these people are commuting from neighbouring small towns. These leaders truly love their sheep! They value and cherish each person that God has entrusted to them.

God has very specifically placed Dan and Judy and is using them to reach many people where they are, guiding them towards what God has for their lives!

Prayer Requests:
In March the youth are going into Regina to do ministry with inner-city kids. As well, every other year they send a mission team to Mexico to build houses. In February 2008 they built two houses, and they will be heading back to work there in February 2010. Pray for the preparation for that trip.

Pray for their youth ministry as well as all the leaders in this Church that God will continue to use them in incredible ways!
